Our client is looking for a Configuration Manager
This is set up to be a 6 mth contract but additional extensions are possible.
Description of work:
JOB DESCRIPTION:
The candidate shall be responsible for all aspects of configuration and change management using government selected tools (likely IBM/Rational ClearCase, ClearQuest and/or IBM/Rational JAZZ suite of tools) and other approved tools to place configuration and change control over the assigned projects. The candidate shall be responsible for control of all configurable items defined and placed under configuration management to ensure that a uniform approach to configuration management (CM) via standard processes and tools is established for all assigned projects. Configuration management processes will govern the development, delivery, and maintenance of all projects and the CMOP software assets and non-software artifacts. The CM environment and procedures in this document apply to all software developed or introduced into development, test, and production environments. The candidate will be responsible for tracking, auditing, verification, and version description documentation. CM roles may take the form of CM manager, CM analyst, or CM librarian based on experience and the needs of the organization to make resource assignments.
REQUIRED EDUCATION/SKILLS :
- Mid-Level: Bachelor's degree in Information Systems (or related field) or equivalent and 6-10 years related experience.
- Minimum five years of experience as configuration management engineer.
- Experience programming to facilitate build automation
- Experience with software development and integration processes
- IBM/Rational ClearCase, ClearQuest and/or IBM/Rational JAZZ suite of tools
- Microsoft Team Foundation Server (TFS)
TASKS:
- Working directly with the VA customer and other vendors, the candidate must have demonstrated ability to:
- Plan and execute all aspects of a comprehensive CM program, including CM planning, configuration identification, change control methodology, configuration status accounting and configuration verification and audit
- Use CM tools and process to define, educate, and implement change and configuration control processes at project and enterprise levels through the use of these tools
- Develop and implement (as needed) CM and build/release engineering processes and procedures
- Participate in and provide knowledge to work committees and planning groups
- Audit procedures at frequent intervals
- Support the activities of CCBs and follow CCB-related procedures
- Establish and maintain project-specific functional, allocated, and product baselines
