Job Description:
This engineer works on orchestration systems, scaling algorithms, big data issues (logging and monitoring), real time automation, performance, containerization and helping to lead the development teams in rebuilding their software to better take advantage of AWS and other cloud technologies. May be required to write custom software and applications to ride on the AWS control plane for optimal use of the platform.
· Must have 1 provable in-production deployment of a real system in AWS using most of the AWS primary verbs (VPC, EC2, ElasticCache, SNS, SQS, ELB, RDS, Security Groups, S3, DynamoDB). DynamoDB is a must. Bonus points for codedeploy and lambda.
· Must be able to program in Python and be able to pass a simple programming and algorithm test.
· Must have experience using botocore2 and botocore3.
· Must have experience with Docker and Docker Swarm.
· Must have experience with Chef and/or Ansible.
· Must have an understanding of queuing systems and queuing performance.
· Must have basic understanding of database performance and database system tradeoffs.
· Must have passing experience with tuning Linux kernels for optimum performance in the cloud.
· Must have passing experience with AWS Kinesis Streams.
· Go with the AWS-SDK programming experience – or a willingness to learn - a plus.
