Job Summary:
This individual will work as part of a dev-ops team operating and maintaining Enterprise applications, services and tools for Customer Account Agents and Field Technicians.
Major Duties:
· Works as part of a dev-ops team to build, operate and maintain enterprise applications
· Partners with infrastructure architects on environment design and build out
· Collaborates with software architects and developers on application deployments and operation
· Provides L2 support in conjunction with L1 and L3 for application operation and maintenance
· Partner with Dev on automation of tasks and processes
· Support production defect triage and resolution
· Provides monitoring support for high availability applications
· Designs and documents operational processes for L1 and L2 support
· Complies with all established procedures and policies of Comcast
· Other functions that may be assigned
· Punctual, regular, and consistent attendance
Core Responsibilities:
· Installing, configuring, administering, tuning, and troubleshooting Windows applications
· Insure proper monitoring of all environment URLs for availability
· Insure proper escalation and notification for each project
· Troubleshoot and resolve client engagement support issues
· Handle day to day support activities that pop up including production incident triage, real-time troubleshooting on support bridge and responding to monitoring alerts
· Create/manage existing automation scripting for applications
· Collaborates with development staff as part of Dev-Ops team
· Researches, writes and edits documentation and technical requirements around system operational processes and procedures
· Provides technical leadership to dev-ops team, serves as a guide and mentor for junior-level operational staff.
· Displays in-depth knowledge of engineering methodologies, concepts, skills, and their application in the area of specified engineering specialty.
· Displays knowledge of, and ability to apply, work management skills.
· Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.
· Regular, consistent and punctual attendance. Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Minimum Requirements:
· BS in Computer Science/Engineering, or equivalent work experience in enterprise application development
· At least 8-10 years' experience with Windows and web-based applications running on IIS
· 5 years' experience supporting applications that use asp.net and web services
· 5 years' experience supporting applications that use SQL Server and ODBC
· 5 years' experience with enterprise class, highly available, high-performing, multi-data center environments
· Strengths should center on complex Windows/Web based environments. Secondary skill set of Linux based environments a plus.
· Must be comfortable working on production support incidents on a live call with other support teams, making recommendations, escalating when necessary.
· Exposure to the following technologies / products / methodologies:
o .NET 4.5 – C#, ASP.net with MVC
o JavaScript / Jquery
o HTML and Bootstrap for UI
o SQL Server / NoSQL technologies
o Continuous build platforms – TFS, MS Deploy, Team City
o TCP/IP and networking technologies and protocols
o Agile SDLC – Scrum preferred
· Experience with Elastic Search, Fluentd, Couchbase, Kibana - experience a big plus
