Job Title: Senior Backup/Recovery Engineer
Location: Reston, VA
Duration: 6 months
Description:
Senior Backup/Recovery Engineer needed for initiative focused on providing significant reductions to ongoing storage costs. Work will include but is not limited to:
- Working with outsourcing vendor to accelerate switch from tape based backup solution to primarily disk based solution
- Investigating, justifying, and implementing backup/recovery changes to lower backup TCO
- Upgrade of Netbackup
- Identifying, justifying, and implementing an archive solution
- Working with application teams to identify candidates for data archiving and to coordinate the data archival
Requirements:
- Strong engineering/architecture experience (7+ years) with Enterprise Netbackup.
- In-depth knowledge and experience with Netbackup advanced functionality for onsite and offsite data protection, resource optimization, data deduplication, management and reporting.
- Strong experience with backup/recovery solution design and implementation
- Strong experience with VMWare backup and recovery
- Strong experience with Unix/Linux administration and scripting
- Strong experience with implementation and management of Data Archive solutions
Desired Skills:
- Experience with EMC DataDomain
- Experience with SQL
- Experience with EMC DPA
- Experience with CLOUD storage
