Job Description:
• Seeking candidates with Java and SQL performance tuning experience that includes garbage collection, heap management, JVM configuration, explain plan, query optimization, optimizer hints, etc.
• Strong experience identifying bottlenecks across various layers of web application stacks (client, network, java containers, oracle backend) and innovate solutions to improve performance engineering effectiveness
• Excellent skills in summarizing large amount of metrics into meaningful graphs and reports.
• Demonstrated ability to identify potential limitations in software architectures
• Proven experience partnering with Architects, Developers, Systems Engineers and Database Administrators to collaboratively tune systems inclusive of reviewing developer code and technical applications to tune for optimal performance
• Proven experience dissecting large amounts of data and identify potential issues then disseminate the information to teammates to allow them to learn and grow in performance engineering
DESIRED SKILLS
•Familiar with Application servers (e,g JBoss)
• Familiar with Oracle technologies (e.g. RAC, Grid, OPS, database)
• Familiar with Network packet sniffers (e.g. TcpDump, Network Monitor)
• Familiar with Dyantrace; Java Tuning and Garbage Collection
