Client: Fidelity Investments
Location: Durham, North Carolina
MOI: Skype(It will be a supervised Skype so he will have to travel to a local Disys or Fidelity office for interview, based on candidate location)
Required: Java Development and QA skills or experience
Communications skills are critical.
Internal Notes:
They are looking for someone who has a QA mindset and good software development skills. They are flexible as far as the experience with various tools, depending on whether the candidate has good software development principals and is at least to some degree, a good learner. That is the bare minimum. The ideal candidate is a strong java developer who has an understanding of BDD or Gherkin or Cucumber and knows agile and version control. They've got a sliding scale as far as their current skills and what they need to learn. If they're strong in some areas but weaker in others, but have very strong communication skills and a decent threshold, they'd consider them.
Ammad Ghauri is current consultant working for Rick. He has a great QA mindset, and that part is good, but as they do more software development in test and automation becomes more and more complex, they need someone who is more well-versed in OOP.
As for building automation frameworks, they may or may not work on that extensively, but just about everyone contributes to the frameworks to some extent. There is a lot of java development for specific tasks that they'll need to undertake. The language that they have exp. w/ doesn't have to be Java per-say, but as long as they understand OOP principles, drive principles and understand how to structure code, they can be taught.
This is primarily a contract (start w/ 6 mo., extend, potential (but by no means a guarantee) of conversion to full time). There are contractors on team that have been there for years. This could be similar engagement. They would consider sponsorship candidates.
