Job Description:

Client is looking for a mid to senior level Java Application Developer specializing in application and ETL development with multi-tiered client/server applications.

 

Responsibilities include:

•                     Working with a cross-functional team to build new core applications and migrate existing code base to newer frameworks.

•                     Technical design and development of software components using core Java

•                     Understanding and converting user requirements into high quality functional solutions, with involvement in the full life-cycle of the project

•                     Performing performance tuning / testing on application code

 

Responsibilities:

•                     Design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable code.

•                     Participate in regular stand-ups and other team meetings and take an experienced approach to developing SaaS, on-prem and virtualized applications

•                     Compliance with all of Corporate IT policies and procedures.

•                     Identify bottlenecks and bugs, and devise solutions to these problems

•                     Work with QA, DevOps, other Developers and Product management to build innovative products

•                     Write comprehensive automated tests

•                     Drive continuous adoption and integration of relevant new technologies into design

 

Required Experience/Skills:

•                     5-10 years of progressive experience in Java development

•                     Experience with one or more server-side applications: (Java, Perl, PHP)

•                     Experience with internationalization and localization standards

•                     Strong understanding of REST API design and consumption

•                     Experience with day-to-day team use of Git and SVN

•                     Understanding and experience in concepts such as Agile, Continuous Integration and Delivery, Automated Testing, DevOps and database architecture

•                     Ability to write clean, readable code

•                     Ability to reverse engineer code

•                     Excellent written and verbal communication skills in American English

•                     Process driven and strong analytical skills

•                     Excellent organizational skills and detail orientation.

•                     Education: Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent Bachelor or advanced degree

 

Pluses:

•                     In-depth knowledge of Linux, MySQL, SQL Server and Oracle

•                     Data modelling experience

•                     Experience with CA Agile (Rally)

•                     Experience with EDI X12 and EDIFACT
