Lots of good ideas on the table to help stop it. We've gone over the tipping point -- certain changes have already taken place. The globe has warmed. The question is can we stop our bad habits in time to keep it from getting so hot that many species will simply die out, including lots of homo sapiens.Governmental cooperation almost looks out of the question. It's going to take some leadership. The president has said that America will always be in a leadership position; I can only hope he meant climate change as well. It's going to be a partnership. That's the only way it will work. Some of it will be regulation, some of it will be sticks like the cost of carbon, both others will be carrots -- for those who don't use as much they can purchase credits and resell them on the open market. That means many can get in on the act. Communities can begin their own conservation efforts -- get together and purchase a wind mill to cut the costs of electricity that runs their sewage treatment plants, or maybe even enough to cover all the home use in their towns. It's going to be innovative, entrepreneurial and lots of input from everyone, not just the government.
