The primary responsibility of the Consultant will be to assume the role of a critical business partner to our clients and their staff utilizing LSS in solving business issues in a production support environment. The successful candidate must be able to manage at all levels, from the executive suite to the production floor and all layers in between. He/she must also be comfortable lending advice, influencing senior leaders, and giving direction at all levels. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, a comprehensive knowledge and understanding of management and organizational principles and self-motivation are essential.
The Lean Six Sigma Black Belt Manager is responsible for leading and managing key strategic and process improvement projects, as well as assisting with implementation, deployment and training throughout the organization utilizing Lean Six Sigma and PMI (Project Management Institute) processes and principles.
A qualified candidate for this position will possess the following:
Education/Certification
- Bachelor's Degree required; Masters preferred.
- LSS Certification: Six Sigma Black Belt/Master Black Belt and Lean Master Certifications from reputable program
Experience
- Minimum of 4-6 years in consulting industry
- Minimum 3 to 5 years as a full-time BB and/or MBB with hands-on Lean expertise
- Ten (10) years or more of experience managing complex strategic and process improvement projects
- Participated in Enterprise level deployment
- Participated in and/or led at least 10 projects at BB level
- Designed, deployed and analyzed PeopleSoft production support assessments.
- Background in retail experience preferred.
Proficiencies
- Demonstrated mastery of Transactional Lean and Six Sigma tools and Lean concepts
- Advanced data analytics beyond basic Six Sigma tools
- Development of metrics and dashboard concepts
- PeopleSoft and production support with onsite and offshore models
- Environmental assessments and other unique applications
- Advanced PowerPoint and presentation skill
- SigmaXL and other statistical software knowledge helpful.
Other Desirable Attributes
- Change Management education and experience
- Demonstrated ability to transform an organization's culture through process and metrics driven performance
- Experience working with both large and small teams
The Consultant will be expected to successfully:
- Perform assessments utilizing analytical skills to understand client environments and associated Lean Six Sigma opportunities
- Perform sound analytical studies in a less than perfect environment to achieve client expectations
- Leverage the flexibility of the Lean and Six Sigma tools to enhance approach to client environments
- Develop, manage and lead continuous process improvement strategies and initiatives
- Execute on Rapid Improvement events
- Identify and execute projects to advance client's strategic goals and objectives as an individual contributor or teammate
- Introduce and sustain change across multiple cultures
- Develop and deploy internal controls and organizational metrics dashboards per regulations and/or client needs
- Design, improve and integrate Internal Process Plans for heavily regulated environments
- Design and present business requirements based on process knowledge for technology implementations
- Integrate process solutions across multiple disciplines in client environment
· Develops training material, content, tools and methods to improve consistency and productivity of projects
· Establishes processes, procedures and policies to effectively manage change and strategic process improvement initiatives and projects throughout the organization
· Helps with the deployment and training of Lean-Six Sigma from scratch including developing material, evaluation of vendors, conducting training, mentoring and certifying belts, mentoring and tracking projects
· Employs Lean-Six Sigma methodology and analytics across organizational operations in order to accomplish business objectives
· Plans, manages, monitors and evaluates all project activities including but not limited to: ensuring valid project estimates are prepared; manages project risk by developing mitigation and contingency plans; conducts critical path analysis; oversees the production and implementation of all project deliverables; and ensures project improvements remain in place and sustainable long after project completion
· Manages day-to-day progress of the project, ensuring continued alignment with projects vision and direction towards achieving projects ultimate objectives
· Develops, maintains, communicates and executes all project management specific deliverables; sets up and runs project team meetings; creates and delivers status reports.
