Oracle Business Intelligence System Administrator
Location: Arlington, VA Long term
Job Description
The Administrator will be responsible for the installation, configuration, administration, and maintenance of the Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition (11g/12c environments). Administration within the environment will include, but not be limited to, the creation of user accounts and roles, patching, upgrades, and Repository Protocol Design (RPD) administration. The administrator will be responsible for maintaining existing and future Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition (11g) environments. This includes applying patches to fix bugs, adding new functionality and features, executing scheduled maintenance tasks, and the installation of maintenance release packages. The administrator will be responsible for supporting development teams. The administrator will participate in regularly scheduled team and planning meetings serving as an OBIEE Subject Matter Expert.
Requirements
The candidate requires three years or more of experience with Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition (11g/12c) clustered environments and Linux / Unix environments. In addition, the candidate should have experience in or be able to:
· Install, upgrade and configure OBIEE tools.
o Possess experience patching and upgrading an existing OBIEE environment.
o Experience in upgrades from 11.1.1.7.1 to 11.1.1.7.9 or 12c in clustered servers.
· Demonstrate proficiency in the use of repository variables.
· Administer ETL and data warehousing applications and tools.
o Demonstrate experience supporting OBIEE RPD deployments.
· Demonstrate an understanding of best practices in BI administration environments.
· Demonstrate a medium to advanced knowledge of WebLogic Application Server Technologies.
· Work effectively in teams as well as independently.
· Demonstrate experience in troubleshooting and solving complex technical problems.
· Communicate technical issues at a level that is easily comprehensible to a variety of audiences.
· Obtain a 'Public Trust' clearance.
Preferred Skills
· Possess a working knowledge of implementing Apache Web Server configurations.
· Demonstrate a working knowledge of networking concepts such as Firewalls, Load Balancing, and TCP/IP.
· Demonstrate a medium to advanced knowledge of JAVA Application Server Technologies, such as JBOSS, and Tomcat.
