Job Description:This is our direct-client opening for a Lead Front End Mobile Developer located in Austin, TX. This is a full-time or contract-to-hire and our client is only interested in local candidates to the area or those who can relocate at their own expense. The hourly rates will depend on experience and the salary range is DOE
As a Lead Front End Mobile Developer, you will be focused on front end and Mobile technologies, working directly with both technical and business stakeholders to translate a vision and designs into sustainable business solutions. You will be responsible for the leadership of companies software applications, conduct studies, analyze and recommend changes in project development policies, procedures, best practices and strategies to the front end development team.
Responsibilities:
Lead technical design and develop applications on complex, major projects and subsystems. Review and advise junior team members on technical designs.
Work with business sponsor to understand requirements and then develop solutions.
Act as a liaison between the business requestor and creative teams to produce solutions.
Partner with Design, QA and Site Management Teams to see content through design and final launch.
Turn creative prototypes and behavioral specs into HTML, CSS and Javascript.
Ensure code is maintainable, scalable, built for ease of use, and performs optimally.
Experience developing and testing across multiple browsers and platforms.
Recommend and govern development best practices to deliver high quality content sites with good customer experience.
Perform quality checks and code reviews.
Troubleshoot problems and work with peer teams to resolve.
Define and implement application level architecture. Participate in architecture design teams, and develop original and creative technical solutions. Provides technical evaluations for product capabilities
Provides estimates and feasibility of features. Work with project managers to plan projects and coordinate development activities.
Recommend development testing tools and methodologies; partner with QA to review and validate test plans.
Responsible for post-installation issues and problem solving. Provides application support for key applications; may serve as on call resources to support the organization's service and escalation model.
May provide technical leadership, mentoring and be accountable for a small team of software developers, onshore and offshore.
Skills/Education/Experience:
Bachelor Degree or equivalent years of experience in computer sciences
5+ years of web development experience in a fast-paced Java environment
Strong skills in web design, including working knowledge of the following: DHTML, CSS, AJAX, JavaScript, Java, JSP (or similar), Tomcat/Apache (or similar), bug tracking, and source control tools
Web user interface design skills and usability analysis
Excellent verbal and written communications skills and an interest in working in a collaborative team environment
Demonstrated ability to deliver results, prioritize activities, and manage time effectively
Internal Notes:
Must have's: 1. Previous hands on development experience with web and mobile; 2. Angular. JS experience or backbone or some other front end client framework; 3. Experience with frontend automation tools (selenium or other tools); 4. Experience with customer facing applications; must have very strong customer focus (i.e. consumer oriented – enjoys getting feedback to enhance user experience); 5. Candidate must have hands on mobile development and or cross platform experience; 6. Minimum five years as a senior web designer for a creative firm
