Again, Did I SAY that?!NO.
However, what's wrong with having, say, 35,000 combat troops on a war footing at bases we've leased from the Iraqi government? We did this in South Korea, and Cuba and nobody seems to mind. We've got tens of thousands of troops in Germany and Japan doing fuck-all too. Would it have been asking that much to redeploy 30-40,000 of them to Iraq where we DO have national interests at stake rather than cooling their jets at Karayoke bars in Japan or beer halls in Germany doing nothing in particular? They're soldiers. Their job is protecting this country and her interests abroad, NOT protecting bordellos in Vicenzia! If we had those troops deployed in bases IN Iraq and patrolling in those tanks, Bradley's and Humvees ISIS now owns, ISIS would've never have taken half of Iraq. When Bush turned over the keys to 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. - not literally but you know what I mean - Iraq was a reasonably peaceful and prosperous place. Now even doctors there are targets of Islamic fanatics!
