1. Skills needed: Mandatory – Datastage administration, Java (middleware capacity), Databases, Unix administration. Nice to have – DB2, UDB, DBA expertise, is great but not mandatory.
2. Experience with IBM InfoSphere Information Server products is mandatory.
3. Experience with IIS (or DataStage) on both zOS platform and IBM DB2 LUW (LINUX/UNIX/WINDOWS) on AIX platform is desirable.
4. We're looking for a Senior DataStage administrator to administer and maintain non-production and production environments using the following technologies: IIS (DataStage) on AIX/zLinux platforms and IBM DB2 LUW on AIX/zLinux platforms.
5. At least 5 Years of experience in administering InfoSphere DataStage platform on a UNIX and/or zLinux environment
Detailed Job Responsibilities:
· Perform administrative activities such as Project/User creation, Roles Management, Import and Export projects, database configuration setup, dataset management, BG/MWB/IA artifacts, and QualityStage component
· Plan and oversee the technical transitions between development, testing, and production phases. Facilitate change control, problem management, and communication among data architects, programmers, system analysts, and functional users
· Monitor the platform and respond immediately to component failures and ensure 24/7 system availability; Work with other Database and Unix administrators to resolve any open issues
· Work with Vendor to co-ordinate patch installations, upgrades, and IIS support packages
· Co-ordinate backup and restore activities for the platform
· Troubleshoot development issues and provide constructive solution
· Contribute to IIS Standards, policies and procedures
· Knowledge in real-time stages such as MQ, XML, JAVA, WEB components
· Knowledge in managing Business Glossary, Metadata Workbench, and Information Analyzer and help data stewards manage the business glossary content
· Strong UNIX scripting knowledge and DB2 LUW database administration
· Strong communication skills
· Has thorough understanding of technical concepts required for specialized field and encourages and supports others to perform their jobs more effectively (e.g., provides advice, tools and/or resources)
· Ability to technical-lead and work with other team members and to work with and understand issues and troubleshoot
· Drives toward the achievement of business results in a manner that focuses on profit, service, and value provided to the customer
· Demonstrates a deep understanding of emerging technologies and trends that could impact the field and the business
