Systems Administrator with strong working knowledge of Linux and MySQL. This role is part of a larger product team that builds, supports and promotes the company's APIs. This is a highly collaborative team of engineers, builders and problem solvers that share a open lab environment; work hard and are serious about uptime.

 

MUST HAVE SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

·         Several years of system administration experience 

·         Experience working with MySQL 

·         Strong knowledge of Linux 

·         Experience scripting, automation and troubleshooting of processes and systems 

·         Experience working with monitoring tools 

·         Experience working with networks, security, firewalls, load balancers, DNS and other infrastructure components

 

SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

·         Knowledge of modern Deployment and Configuration Management tools such as Opscode Chef 

·         Experience with SOLR 

·         Experience in configuring new services using HA Proxy and Apache 

·         Experience scripting in the shell and at least one of the following: Groovy, Ruby, Perl or Python 

·         Experience with API gateway platforms (e.g. Apigee, Mashery, etc.) 

·         Experience working with Agile 

·         Experience with Cloud Computing platforms (e.g. Amazon AWS, Hadoop, etc.) 

·         Experience with large database driven applications and/or distributed computing 

·         Experience working with a development team or in a DevOps culture 

·         Ability and aptitude to dig into and solve challenging problems and proactively avoid problems 

·         Keen attention to detail and high level of commitment

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

·         Operational support for team. 

·         Work with networks, security, firewalls, load balancers, DNS and other infrastructure components. 

·         Maintain existing systems and write new features written in Ruby. 

·         Utilize Chef. 

·         Maintain core systems such as MySQL, Ruby on Rails, SOLR, as well as troubleshooting technical issues through the network stack.
