Job Description: | | Currently Caterpillar has a significant backlog of applications they are looking to migrate to the cloud. This backlog is continually growing on a daily basis and the solution engineer role will work to remedy this backlog including deployment and future automation. They will work in conjunction/take direction from the TEK/CAT architecture team as to priority and process.
* 7 years of cloud, 1 in azure
*progressive engineering experience
*understand networking in the cloud
virtual machines in cloud
*Experience with GIT or other source control
*ARM (azure resource manager) - only been out around 1 year - nice to have
*automation experience background a plus - python preferred, Powershell ok
*Preferred Azure cloud backup - Site Recovery
*Understand High Availability concepts - not necessary to be hands on with it
*Any Azure certs are welcome: MCSD, 70-534, 70-533, 70-532: active or engage in
*IoT experience would be a plus - first project will engage with an IoT project, spinning up IoT hub
• Azure Solutions Engineer
o 7+ years of experience, his career in engineering. Experienced Engineer
o Automation, ARM Template Guru, GIT Experience (couple years working with GIT)
§ Everything will be deployed from GIT
o Azure cloud experience
o Python Automation (2.7 or 3.4, either one)
o Deployment Apps, spun up the environment in the Cloud
o This person is getting the work from the Azure Architect (Back-log)
o PAAS and Infra as a Service Deployment Experience
o Networking at a Cloud Level
o Concepts such as back-up and DR in the CLOUD (HA – High availability)
o Azure DR is offline (Don't pay for it unless you use it)
o Deployed Workloads into the Azure Cloud
o Database as a Service – Azure SQL |
