Cloud: Applications Architect

Positions Day to Day Responsibilities/Project Details (size, scale, scope)

• This candidate will create standards, availability models and policies for developers to use when consuming specific cloud tools
• This candidates will create the standards for availability that the developers will need to code around in order to make the applications meet their availability standards for the cloud.
• They will also interact with 3rd party vendors to ensure that the services they are receiving will be fully available if they move on to the cloud. 

 

What are the top 3 MUST HAVE requirements of the position (years exp, technical, etc.)?

1. Data Resiliency, IT Resiliency, or  Disaster Recovery
2. AWS, Cloud
3. Virtualization, VMware, virtual servers

 Client Job Description:

Position Summary

Responsible for designing, creating, communicating and executing the Enterprise IT Resiliency strategy for DTCC and its subsidiaries. This role will focus on developing Resiliency capabilities for internal, external and hybrid cloud service types; IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS. Be able to collaborate with Infrastructure, Business Continuity Management and Application Development organizations during system design and development phases, providing advice, interpretation, and review of all required Resiliency design principles. Focus on Resiliency standards, technical and architecture design, quality of solution, knowledge transfer to other areas, and mentoring the project technical team members. Conducts research and understands cloud computing industry trends with regards to technology and adoption, and can understand and evaluate the use of automated tools and utilities and how they relate in support of DTCC's overall Enterprise Resiliency Architecture strategy.
