HOT REQ Need AS400/I series Tester

Position: AS400/I series Tester
Location:  Chicago, IL
Start Date:  Immediate
Duration: 6 months

 

Summary: The Quality Assurance Analyst performs testing of small to medium software development applications using QA testing practices and frameworks. This role provides appropriate and timely status, metrics and communication to stakeholders.

 

Education/Experience 

·         Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or equivalent work experience. 

·         3 years of full life cycle Software Quality Assurance process experience (requirements analysis, decomposition, test case design, prioritization and risk analysis, test execution, metric reporting, etc.). 

·         Should have experience testing within Agile projects.

 

Skills and Competencies 

·         Ability to plan, estimate, and prioritizing own testing work. 

·         Demonstrated ability to analyze requirements and create efficiently designed and planned test cases. As well, ability to scale testing efforts to support aggressive agile-like project timelines. 

·         Proven test design, risk analysis, and prioritization skills. 

·         Proven ability to create test data based on requirement and to provide data validation through various methods.

·         Prepare test data, execute tests, report defects, and retest defects.

·         Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate with project stakeholders. 

·         History of working independently and with minimum supervision. 

·         Track record of balancing multiple priorities simultaneously with the ability to adapt to the changing needs of the business while meeting deadlines. 

·         Understanding of multiple IT technical platforms, and application development methodologies. 
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. 

·         Flexibility to work evening and weekend hours for installations, implementations, and upgrades. 

·         Demonstrated experience with system development life cycle methodologies preferred. 

·         Proficient with Hewlett-Packard Quality Center (HP QC) preferred. 

·         Ability to write SQL queries and perform complex data validation.

 

AS400/ISERIES Skills

·         Prior experience testing applications on the AS400/ISeries using green screens.  Similar Mainframe testing experience is an alternative.

·         Ability to work with AS400/ISeries logical and physical files including joining files.

·         Ability to write SQL queries against AS400/ISeries files or other query tools such as  DBU or Query/400

·         Demonstrated knowledge of AS400/ISERIES function keys – what are the keys and what do they do. ( Example F3 is exit a screen)
Ability to explain and use AS400/ISERIES Commands such as WRKOBJLCK, WRKOBJ, WRKSPLF, DSPFFD

·         Ability to run reports on the AS400/ISERIES
